Sangoma Vega 400 Base Digital Gateway
The Sangoma Vega 400 digital gateway connects IP networks with digital telephony equipment via T1 or E1 connections. The base model is licensed for 8 voice channels. Increase the number of channels by adding licenses and DSP cards.
Sangoma Vega 400 Overview
All Vega 400 gateways are supplied with four E1/T1 interfaces which are always fully available regardless of the license which has been purchased. The unit is purchased pre–licensed to suit the initial requirements of the customer for the quantity of concurrent VoIP calls desired through to 120 VoIP channels. Future expansion is easily achieved in the field & can be provisioned by means of further licenses and expansion modules. Each E1/T1 interface can be independently configured as network side or terminal side. The Vega 400 gateway can therefore be connected to a PBX & the PSTN simultaneously. This configuration provides:
- * No disruption to the configuration of existing equipment
- * Flexibility & choice for call routing

The Vega 400 gateway incorporates an additional four RJ45 sockets and fails over to these during outages. This resource can be utilized to achieve hardwired connection from the PBX to the PSTN for instances when the Vega is installed between the two. Or alternatively to failover to a back-up Vega 400 & thereby providing dual redundancy.
Vega 400 Modular Solution
When purchasing the Vega 400, you can purchase it with a fractional T1 (16 Channels), a single T1 (30 channels), a Vega dual T1 (60 channels), a Vega 3 T1 (90 channels), or a Vega quad T1 Gateway (120 channels).
If you are not sure how many channels you will need or if you want to start small and grow as you need it, you can purchase a basic Vega 400 chassis and add on channels as you need them. The base Vega 400 chassis comes with 4 T1/E1 ports, enablement of up to 30 channels, but licensing for 8 channels. To use all 30 channels, you will need to buy 22 of the Vega 400 Channel License (LC0102).
To expand above 30 channels, you will need to add Channel Licenses for as many channels as you would like, but also a 1x1 DSP Card for the 31-60th channels. To expand to 61 up to 90 channels, you would need 2 of the 1x1 DSP Card and a Channel License for each channel. To max out your Vega 400 at between 91 and 120 channels, purchase a 1x3 DSP Card plus a Channel License for each channel.
